My decision to get an MBA at this point in my life has been influenced by two important pursuits. First is to move forward with my career and become a project manager for an IT team of a large consulting firm, and second is to finally return back to Bangalore, India where I wish to serve as a Senior Delivery Manager or CTO for a consulting firm for a long term.

I have always been interested in merging engineering and technology, and this has been reflected in my undergraduate education at Visvesvaraya Technological University where I have a degree in electronics and communication engineering, and later continued my education at North Carolina State University where I have acquired my masters degree in computer engineering with a major in computer networking. It is through these solid educational backgrounds that I have had the opportunity to work on several companies where I am able to apply my aptitude in various computer related languages, operating systems, application tools, and protocols.

Upon graduating from college, I worked with Mind Tree Consulting Pvt Ltd., a premiere IT consulting company in Bangalore, as a program analyst. It was in this firm where I became an integral part of testing and development teams for web-based projects based on JAVA and J2EE technology and Struts Frame Work. After securing my masters degree, I started working with a California-based start up company as a network engineer, after which, I worked as a senior systems engineer on contract with John Hopkins Universitys Department of Radiation of Oncology and managed to sustain my position in a full-time basis. With all these professional experiences, I had the fortune to work with several teams consisting of diverse groups of people in the field of computer technology. All these taught me various things that have contributed to my extensive and detailed approach in dealing with differing technological aspects.

While I appreciate the excitement and enjoyed the many aspects of my past and current work experiences, my tenure as an employee has also presented me with challenges that have motivated me to seek a business administration degree. In many instances, I had to coordinate with vendors and company personnel in order to facilitate purchases. Nevertheless, I have to come up with computer-related implementation policies in order to ensure the efficiency of technical programs set up for the company, and get involved with researching new technologies that can be used to identify opportunities for improvement and market to prospective vendors. As I was able to gain firsthand experiences in these fields, I realized that in order for me to succeed with my long-term professional goals, I have to return to school to expand my understanding of the fundamentals of corporate and industrial culture, improve my leadership skills, and help me acquire knowledge concerning various management mechanisms, which are invaluable tools for me to succeed in my future practice.

I ardently believe that an MBA can help me develop other vital skills that are essential for delivering optimal results for the company. To be able to secure an MBA would mean that I have an effective tool with me to further polish my public speaking and equip me with the skills that are necessary in dealing with foreign clientele. Likewise, the things that I would acquire in this program will expose me to the practical issues concerning business creation. It is by associating myself with this form of highly competitive educational environment that would enable me to realize my fullest potential in two intersecting fields, business and technology. In short term, however, this education will be valuable in my pursuit to be able to share my know-hows with other individuals who have the same pursuit as mine. Pursuant to the outlined objectives, I would like to take advantage of the part time MBA course offered by the Carey School of Business at John Hopkins University.

I identify myself strongly with the university because I know that this institution complements my desire to further my skills and know-how through experiential education incorporated within the program as well as the opportunities provided to advance ones career life and achieve self-development. With the part time MBA program, I would be able to achieve my goal of obtaining a higher degree in the field of business, and at the same time continue my employment in the company I am associated with. This way, I am continuously translating my passion for computer technology through actual computer system works and acquiring academic experiences that would catapult me in attaining my goals.

Over the years, I have come across various computer related knowledge that have strongly substantiated my passion for this field. However, I feel that I still have a lot to learn and a lot to offer that can only possibly be sufficed by taking a path that would further emphasize my know-hows in the aforementioned field, and for this reason, I deem it an optimal time to start pursuing my MBA, which at this point will be conducive to my career aspiration.

With my professional background, high regard for academic determination, and emphasis on the fundamentals of trainings and experiences as relevant factors in improving ones craft, I am now prepared to take the next step toward my dream. I am confident that I am ready to actively participate as a member of the universitys MBA class, and I could give value and significant contributions to the university by overcoming the challenges that would be laid upon me. At this point, I am looking forward to gaining the requisite skills and experiences necessary as a business professional, and the universitys MBA program would certainly helpful in securing a strong application for my later practice.
