1. Given the competitive landscape in the software industry and in the web 2.0 economy, please
Summarize the key challenges Microsoft face in the enterprise software and services market.
Specifically, how to respond to open-source movement, web services trends, and the new
SaaS business model What actions the company needs to take in order to maintain its
leadership position

Microsoft should be dynamic and relate its new inventions to the desires of the market as well as use of a good price to sell her products. When windows vista came up everybody was looking forward to it but unfortunately its wasnt user friendly. A totally new thing had been born and no one was ready to change all companys documentary defaults to meet the new program. Actually I tend to believe Microsoft through people will delete or remove previous files and buy the new software and start again making new files. The he would do is in addition of features with the increase in peoples requirements and needs from the previous soft wares.

Microsoft should not also concentrate to buy other peoples already growing companys enterprises but it should concentrate to believe in the resources it already has and the employees can reason to come up with a new thing people would buy. There is no way Microsoft would lead in any new thing it buys but in what it comes up on its own. Office and windows were an original invention so Microsoft has no reason to sit reluctant like it already won the battle. Actually so many firewalls are being set in the whole world by people as they bring new soft wares to the market. Microsoft soft wares will strongly be rejected.

2. Conventional wisdom tells us that if you try to do everything at once, you wont do anything
well. Do you think Microsofts recent entry into the consumer electronics markets, especially
in the digital media and video game industry has been successful Please suggest ways for
Microsoft to compete more effectively in these respective market expansions.

It wasnt successful and thats what brought the losses in 2006 and a poor quality to the launch of windows vista in the following year (2007) instead on 2009. Microsoft should actually stick to its roots the web and software based applications and it will do better. Googles investments in the YouTube is doing quite well while the digital and video game industry still lags behind because it has no flexibility in use. One can easily get access to web based games easily as well as videos from you tube but the digital and video based electronic systems are an reachable and should they be reachable they are so expensive that customers would prefer simple and cheaper staff from the web and things the actually are used to. The market is not foolish it buys things depending with its needs and not someone else intends to capitalize on them. Actually if you can draw a customer need and you set the highest expense possible the customer stills buys but if you buy your own skill at the expense of the customer then definitely you will not succeed.

3. Gates was commented as PC genius, Internet fool8. Do you agree How to pursue its
Internet strategy to more effectively compete with Yahoo, Google, or the next Google
Facebook

I agree. Face book was an inventory from already existing weaknesses of other internet based sites and therefore its success picked from there. The yahoo messenger wasnt doing quite well. Clients expected to use the yahoo messenger directly from there browsers yet yahoo expected them to download and install before use some which clients didnt know or enjoy doing in fact the download of yahoo messenger in the recent past was associated with viruses that came with its download so face book  made its way when it introduced it there. Yahoo as well as Google had very tight security on files, photos, chats and most other personal based information. So FaceBook made a breakthrough when it made individuals easily share information and files photos and other needs together. This is derived from what was already there. So Microsoft should invent. It should put its brain into function.

4. Both Microsoft and Apple are 30 years old companies. They are long time competitors in
the PC industry. They also manage to successfully enter other non-PC markets as an effort to
diversify their businesses. Please compare the similarities and differences in their respective
business strategies. What Microsoft can learn from Apple in pursuing its future business
strategies

Microsoft did not fulfill clients needs to the entertainment world in its applications. Solitaire and Minesweeper amongst others do not entertain people much. The should there not switch to non pc markets to fulfill clients requirements all they should do is advance in the concentration of making better PCs that contain graphical information as well as media to maximally entertain people. Microsoft was more of office based that entertainment based during the marketing of windows as well as office applications. The nature of human beings and market in this case is work and entertainment should balance.

5. Mobility will be at the core of how the Internet evolves. In emerging markets, we see that
more people are accessing the Internet for the first time via their mobile device rather than on
a PC. We aim to be at the forefront of making that happen. Single purpose devices are
becoming less attractive, and the converged devices taking their place are increasingly
powerful and easy to use.
- Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, President and CEO (USA), Nokia)9
Who do you believe will have a better chance in the mobile industry Google, Apple,
Microsoft or others What recommendations would you like to give Microsoft in order to
Better prepare for the future mobile platform competition

Microsoft should concentrate cheap items. The price of a mobile phone compared to the price of PCs is a very big issue when it comes to competition of the prices therefore Microsoft should not focus on making very big machine based application of which very few people or organization can own but it should easily owned by anyone. The machines should be portable this is because this machines are more convenient to travel with from one point to another when making research beside information as well as analyzing.

Most mobile phone based companies offer free internet and its easier to connect and enjoy those services from any part of the world. Microsoft came up with many security based reasons in her application that affected even the market. Its takes quite long to go through the connection process and after getting connecting there is a problem of security but mobile phone have minimum security based problems rendering it user friendly. Computers are also hard to use by so many people yet mobile phones take a very short time to use. Microsoft should therefore focus on these issues to make an application that can run on a cheap machine where everyone can access to make maximum profit.
